UXBRIDGE ROAD, HAMMERSMITH
As the former Territorial Army building
was considered to be in sound condition and the existing layout lent itself
favourably to the client's objectives, the building was retained for adaptation
and extension. This made maximum use of the resources available and in line
with current planning policies encouraging re-generation of inner city brown
field sites.
Permission was granted for 10Nº 1-bed short stay apartments on the
upper floors, including the introduction of an additional floor of accommodation
at roof level.
Community use is retained on the lower ground floor in the form of an IT
training & business enterprise centre. This combined centre is the first
of its kind to be sponsored by a Housing Association.
